How to open your Yahoo or Gmail email client from your Firefox web browser

Hi Again

Note that the above is only for Firefox, but on the plus side it is a more secure (than Internet Explorer), more versatile (it has lots of addons and reasonably quick.

If you are looking for a browser that is fast light (on resources) then check out Firefox, Google Chrome and or Opera.

It is possible to have all four installed on your PC, with obviously only one as the default browser, but you can launch and use the others at the click (or double click) of an icon.

The advantage here is that you can see what webpages look like, how quick they load relative to the other browsers, see what facilities these browsers have and make an informed decision on what browser would be best for your needs.

Word of warning though, use the bookmark/favorites option in the default browser only as the bookmarks are overwritten when importing from another browser (unless you know how to save before the importation and add them after the process is complete)

That's all for now

Thank You and happy emailing

Your Own Windows Shortcuts (Windows XP, Vista and 7)

Vista has a similar feature, you must use a Ctrl+Alt+(a key of your choice) for the shortcut.
For Windows XP use this method

Choose the program you want to open with a key combination.

Open the All Programs list and find the program. Do not open it

Right click on the program name

Select 'Properties' from the menu list (usually right at the bottom)

Select the 'Shortcut' tab at the top of the 'Properties' window

Locate the 'Shortcut key' entry

Enter the the key combination you wish to use to open the program

(This must be a Ctrl + Alt + a letter or number).

Note

The function keys can also be used for program starting, by following the above instructions and

placing the cursor in the box (where you would normally put the Ctrl + Alt + letter or number)

then press the function key number you wish to use.

Happy shortcutting, see you next time and Thank You

How to tweak Facebook Security Settings

Hi

We hope you can appreciate that
We Want YOU To Enjoy Your PC/Internet Experience!

We aren't about spoiling the fun, but want to make you aware of how to protect yourselves against some of the internet 'situations' that can occur to the unwary.

Facebook like other social network sites can be used to gain information about a person.

The information helps build up an identity profile of the person concerned and can be used for identity theft.  Not a very pleasant thought, but a cautionary glance over the information and what is or is not allowed to be shared, may save an unpleasant experience.

Go check all your social network accounts and the settings now, for any settings which allow anyone to look at your details.

Please note that some people are using celebrity doppelganger information, so be aware that a celebrity name or picture is not necessarily the real celebrity, but someone masquerading as them to acquire your details for some reason.

In the case of social networking sites be very careful over what information you allow others to view
