Your Own Windows Shortcuts (Windows XP, Vista and 7)

Vista has a similar feature, you must use a Ctrl+Alt+(a key of your choice) for the shortcut.
For Windows XP use this method

Choose the program you want to open with a key combination.

Open the All Programs list and find the program. Do not open it

Right click on the program name

Select 'Properties' from the menu list (usually right at the bottom)

Select the 'Shortcut' tab at the top of the 'Properties' window

Locate the 'Shortcut key' entry

Enter the the key combination you wish to use to open the program

(This must be a Ctrl + Alt + a letter or number).

Note

The function keys can also be used for program starting, by following the above instructions and

placing the cursor in the box (where you would normally put the Ctrl + Alt + letter or number)

then press the function key number you wish to use.

Happy shortcutting, see you next time and Thank You
