NEW AMAZON PHISHING EMAILS
Recently GDS has received a couple of emails from Amazon.com. Now being where I am, I don't deal with Amazon.com, so alarm bells rang and coupled with several other suspicious traits, it was clear these were PHISHING emails. Fortunately this was from a 'Junk' account I keep (for signing up to odd sites with something that looks interesting but requires subscription). The account needless to say attracts all sorts of rubbish, porn, viagra, loans etc.. I digress, the purpose of this item is to show the emails entitled
email 1 'Amazon.com - Your Cancellation (nn-nnn-nnn)'
AND
email 2 'Amazon.com - Your Cancellation (nn-nnn-nnn)'
Below is the response I received from Amazon on a chat line
You are now connected to Goutham from Amazon.com. Title:Spam emails
Me:Hi
Goutham:Hello, my name is Goutham. I'll be glad to help you today.
Me:I have received several emails supposedly from you with the title Order Cancelled Are you aware of this email
Goutham:The e-mail you received wasn't from Amazon.com.
We recommend that you delete the e-mail. For your protection, do not respond to it, and do not open any attachments or click any links it contains.
We also recommend running anti-virus or anti-malware software whenever you receive a suspicious e-mail, especially if you opened an attachment or visited a web site that was linked in the e-mail.
Me:I shall tell my clients and post it on my website Thank You for your help Goutham. So there you have it, DELETE THE EMAIL AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T CLICK ON THE NUMBER LINK (The Underlined 38-839-388 type number) OR YOU WILL BE SORRY
